Biography:
- Graduated from ETH Zurich in 1975 and spent several years in industry.
- Completed his Ph.D. in computer science at Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne in 1985.
- Invited professor at VUB Brussel (1986) and senior researcher at EPFL since 1987.
- Nominated professor at EPFL in 1988.
- Married and father of 4 children.
