Welcome to the LGL component library server. If you have not done so before you may wish to see the conditions under which our components are made available. The software is being actively maintained and all corrections and or suggestions that you may have pertaining to either the software or this server should be sent to: lgl-components@di.epfl.ch

This introduction is organized into three sections.

Server Organization

The server is organized by categories of components such as ADT's, Text Processing etc. Under the name of each category you will find three icons.

The first is an information icon which will take you to an abstract describing the category of components and providing links to other information about the category.

The second icon is the source icon for a category which will take you to a directory consisting of a list of components with their names preceded by various infomational icons. These icons are links to hypertext versions of the components specifications.

The third icon is the ftp icon which opens an ftp connection to the lgl ftp server to transfer the whole category. You will be prompted for where the category should be palced in your file system.

Icon Descriptions

A brief description of the various icons you will encounter and their meanings.

Information Icons

Each icon tells you the nature of the component.

Navigation Icons

All navigation icons, which are easily recognizable by the ball appearing in the upper half of the icon, are links to other places. The first is the LGL Component Library icon which will always take you to the LGL Component Library home page. The second is the info icon which takes you to an abstract of the various categories and provides links to other information such as articles related to the category. The third takes you to a directory of the Ada specifications for the various components belonging to a category. The last icon always brings you here to the Information page.

Action Icons

Action icons do something other than just take you some place. The first icon is the ftp icon which opens an ftp connection to transfer a particular category of components. It will ask where you would like the code to be put in your file system. The second icon is the email icon which allows you to send a message to the maintainer of this server with suggestions or questions.

Miscelaneous Information

Each category comes with whatever documenation we have but test programs are not included. If you would like information on obtaining test programs please send a message to: lgl-components@di.epfl.ch

All files available by ftp have been tar'd together and gzip'd.
