One of my Senior Projects: Design & Development of a Frame Grabber Board
for IBM PC compatibles with edge detection software.
The project contains:
- A "Conversion" board (PAL to Digital).
- A "Fast Storing" board to snap quickly the image with multiplexed memory and reorder directely the lines even/odd. Also suppress directely the teletext lines.
- A "Link to PC" board.
- DOS drivers for the PC board.
- Edge detection software (Prewitt, Laplace, Merö-Vassy).
Project duration: 2 months.
The board was successfully tested.
Recipient of ABB (Asea Brown Boveri Ltd.) and EIG (Ecole d'Ingénieurs de Genève)
prizes for the best senior project at EIG in 1989.
