WWW Links (Humanitarian Demining) - ExtendedRef
http://diwww.epfl.ch/lami/detec/minelinks.html |
Last modified by CB 20.8.2004.
Current Status and activities: no longer updated (see the
EUDEM2 Web Site).
DISCLAIMER:
Although this list has been completely revised on the 20/8/2004, it does not pretend
to be complete, and some of the material might be outdated. In a number of cases of
particular interest the original comments have been left, even if the link did not seem
to be active any more.
This is a large list of links related to the landmine problem, with
emphasis on technical aspects. It has been completely revised on the 7/10/1998,
hopefully making it (even) more useful. Whenever possible comments on
each site have been added, but needless to say, this is a moving
target.
Web Sites containing LISTS of CONFERENCES, FORUMS/NEWSGROUPS, LINKS,
ORGANIZATIONS/ADDRESSES, PHOTOGRAPHS,
and PUBLICATIONS are listed at the very beginning, followed by sites
which focus on the Ordnance issue and those more Landmine related
(sites which deal
with both are usually listed under Landmines). A broad separation has
been
implemented where possible, dividing the sites dealing with "GENERAL"
aspects from those focused on more "TECHNICAL" ones.
For a shorter list please click on the QuickRef
item.
Additional sections have been added with some information on metal
detectors and on tracking/orientation systems (which might be important
to
know where your sensor is). In any case we dare to suggest that you
make extensive use of the "Find" utility of your Internet browser to
find a specific site/topic. Input from a number of external sources is
gratefully acknowledged!
One important remark, maybe obvious: such lists can rarely pretend
to be
comprehensive, and Internet is tricky - a huge difference can exist
between the
description of an organization you find on its Web Site, and what is
really
going on. For good and for bad. Nevertheless, for many topics you
should be
able to find good starting points and sometimes more detailed
references too.
