Data acquired with DETEC-2
You will find here all the data we acquire with the DETEC-2
prototype. Each data set is present in two
file formats. I think most of you will use the type I
format
for which it must be easy to write import routines for your particular
processing environment (a Matlab
routine is available; if you write import routines for other
standard
environment, please send us a copy, so we can put them on our server
too).
The resolution of the horizontal grid in these data files is 10 mm x 10
mm; if you think this grid is too coarse for your processing
algorithms,
you can use the type S files (which are the raw traces with
their
coordinates) and use them to generate a finer grid. As the radar is
used
in free running mode, these files contain along the scan path a high
density
of traces, which allows to generate a grid with higher resolution in
the X
axis (in the Y axis the step is mechanically fixed at 1 cm). We tried
for
example to generate a grid of 5 mm x 10 mm, but in our case it didn't
give
significant images improvement.
The data sets currently available have been acquired in the loamy
soil
section of our sandbox, more data will be added in the following days.
We expect to add soon data acquired in a Belgian exercise mine field
and
at the end of November data acquired in Cambodia.
