CONTENT BASED QUERIES FOR IMAGE DATABASES
Finding algorithms for shape indexation of large image databases is the goal of this project. In particular a ypographic ornament database has been built from the old books of the University of Lausanne Library which concerns books of the region of Lausanne. Image contents based queries has been tested on it with a satisfactory hit level for the current needs of the historians of the old books. A web site (in French) using our results and allowing external queries has been built by P. Gardel and S. Corsini at the University of Lausanne.
